Otranto: Puglia holidays

Itinerary: Ostuni, Lecce, Alimini lakes, Cave of Zinzulusa.
Otranto is 46 Kms from Lecce, can be reached by car from Ostuni.
Otranto, in the Middle Age, was a main commercial port of the Byzantine empire.
The historical centre is characterized from paved lanes and is contained by boundaries built after 1480.

We suggest to visit:

• The historical centre;
• The Aragonese castle;
• The Cathedral that hosts the famous mosaic pave of the Tree of Life and the chapel of the martyrs.

The 800 four hundred martyrs slaughtered by the Turks in 1480on the hill of the martyrs are here preserved.
And then, being Apulia also earth of sea caves:

• The lover's cave near St.Foca (Lecce);
• Cave of the Poetry in Roca, a messapic city (Lecce);
• Castro's Caves: Cave Giustina, the count's Caves, Channel of the Palummara, Cave of the Zinzulusa, that finishes in the enormous Cave called the "Cathedral", Cave Romanelli, Cave Porcinara, the Cave of the Bone, the Cave of the Devil, the Cave of the Talato, the Cave of the Circle, the Cave of Mesciu Scianni, the Three Doors Cave, the Cave of the River, the Cave of the Crib, the Cave Titti, the Child's cavern (Caves of West).
  The Caves of East include, among the others, the Caves Cazaffri, the Cave of the Moriggio, the Cave of Teradico and the Cave of Porrano.
  Caves of the Uluzzo from Uluzzo to Lecce up to the point of the Aspide. ;
